Quality Evaluation at the Novi Sad Fair

Champions Night — trophies

A 136-year tradition of quality evaluation. What is older than the Novi Sad Fair itself is the evaluation of product and service quality. At the First County Agricultural Exhibition in 1888 in Novi Sad, a proper Evaluation Committee already operated with its Rulebook. For good quality, 44 diplomas and 22 gold coins were awarded.

Quality evaluation organized for the Agricultural Fair, as well as the Tourism Fair, lasts for months — a large number of samples from different product groups are assessed, often with field visits. The process is regulated by rulebooks, and the committees consist of academics, university professors, renowned scientists and experts from Serbia and abroad. Medals, charters, plaques, diplomas and championship trophies confirm quality assessed according to national and international standards.

The process for the Agricultural Fair usually starts in February and ends in May. Products and services in around thirty groups are evaluated — food and chemical products, livestock and animal feed, process and craft equipment, packaging, as well as achievements in design and agribusiness.

Awards are presented at the “Master” Congress Center of the Novi Sad Fair, ahead of or during events, while a special honor is given to the best at the Champions Nights. The recognitions encourage manufacturers and companies to continuously improve products, processes and services; the long-standing regional scope makes the evaluation one of the unique institutions in Southeast Europe.

2023 — the jubilee year of the Novi Sad Fair

In 2023 the Novi Sad Fair marked its 100th anniversary and organized the 90th International Agricultural Fair. The beginning of fairs in Novi Sad was the First Novi Sad Exhibition (11–26 August 1923). The first International Agricultural Fair and Livestock Exhibition was held on 14–18 March 1931 as the first organized exhibition and fair of breeding livestock on the territory of the then Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
