On the occasion of the handover of the vehicle, a press conference was held at which the President of the Organization for Search and Rescue of Serbia, Dr. Dragan Bjelic, and the Director of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković, spoke. Both emphasized the importance of cooperation between the economy, institutions and organizations that contribute to the safety of citizens through their work.
The General Manager of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković, emphasized that the Fair consistently conducts socially responsible business and supports initiatives that have immediate significance for the community.

– As a socially responsible company, we have decided to support OTIS – Search and Rescue Organization of Serbia. These are young people and volunteers who have shown exceptional expertise, dedication and courage through their work so far. In a conversation with them, we recognized that the vehicle is one of the most necessary resources for them to work more efficiently in the field. That is why we made the decision to provide it to them – said Cvetković. He reminded the attendees that the Novi Sad Fair has previously participated in numerous humanitarian and socially responsible actions. – We donated funds to the NURDOR organization, bought a respirator during the pandemic, and the Novi Sad Fair was also a vaccination point during that period, as well as a temporary Covid hospital. Whenever we have the opportunity to contribute to the community, we do so with great pleasure. I owe a special debt of gratitude to Dejan Šijak, Assistant to the Mayor of Novi Sad, who initiated this cooperation and connected us with OTIS. I believe that this vehicle will help their teams to do their noble work even more successfully – said Cvetković.

The President of the Organization for Search and Rescue of Serbia, Dr. Dragan Bjelic, thanked the Novi Sad Fair for the donation, emphasizing that the vehicle will immediately be included in the operational work. – Thanks to the support of the Novi Sad Fair, we are getting a vehicle that will significantly improve our operational capacities and enable us to serve our citizens even more efficiently. It represents an important step forward in strengthening our logistical capabilities and will be used in interventions, searches, trainings and transport of people and equipment – said Dr. Bjelic. He reminded that OTIS is the only organization of this type based in Novi Sad, and that it has had the support of the City of Novi Sad since its establishment. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, and his team, as well as the Director of the Novi Sad Fair, who recognized the importance of our work and contributed to the further development of the organization. Over the past few years, we have participated in the most demanding rescue operations in the country and abroad, and this donation will enable us to go out into the field faster and transport people and equipment more efficiently, said Dr. Bjelic.

The Search and Rescue Organization of Serbia is officially recognized as a republican entity of special importance for the protection and rescue system, as well as an entity of importance for protection and rescue in the territory of the City of Novi Sad.
