Panel on Financing of Strategic Energy Infrastructure Concludes Energy and Investment Days

The International Energy and Investment Days, which were organized on October 14 and 15, ended with a panel discussion "Financing Strategic Energy Infrastructure", dedicated to the role of international financial institutions, investors and state institutions in providing funds for the implementation of key energy and infrastructure projects in Serbia and the region.

The final panel was attended by Jovana Joksimović, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and European Integration at the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, Ognjen Popović, Assistant Minister of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, Mauro Di Veroli, Head of the Cooperation Department of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, Damien Sorrell, Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB Global) Regional Centre for the Western Balkans, Matthew Andris, Head of the Economic Department of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, and Carsten Sandhop, Director of KfW Serbia.

The discussion focused on financing models for strategic energy projects, the importance of international financial support and the development of partnerships necessary to improve energy infrastructure, strengthen energy security and accelerate the energy transition.
During the two-day program, the International Energy and Investment Days brought together project promoters, investors, representatives of financial institutions, technology companies and policy makers, with the aim of connecting capital, expertise and concrete investment initiatives.
Special emphasis was placed on the presentation of projects ready for investment and their connection with international financial institutions, investors, providers of technological solutions and potential partners for implementation. The possibilities of improving cooperation between the public and private sectors were also discussed, as an important prerequisite for creating a more favorable environment for investments in energy and infrastructure.

The final panel rounded off the program of this year's International Energy and Investment Days, with the message that connecting investors and project promoters, the availability of appropriate financial instruments and strengthening regional partnerships are of key importance for the realization of energy priorities and the long-term development of Serbia and the region.
