56th Hunting & Fishing Fair and Ecology Fair at Novi Sad Fair, Sept 24–28: gear, trophies, workshops, exhibitions, kids’ programs and attractions. The 56th International Hunting and Fishing Fair and the Ecology Fair, which will be held from September 24 to 28, were announced today at the Novi Sad Fair. It will offer everything you need for hunting, fishing, spending time in nature and recreation. It will remind you of the constant need and obligation of everyone to take care of the environment, but also offer numerous attractions, interesting things, education, workshops... Supporting the Novi Sad fair is the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry. - As you know, the Secretariat has been financing the development of hunting within AP Vojvodina for many years. This year, we allocated 104 million dinars for the purchase of equipment and the purchase of live game. We also introduced a new measure of 80 million dinars that will be promoted at this event - for equipping hunting lodges, reconstruction and adaptation in order to promote hunting tourism in the territory of the APV. This manifestation is very important to us because of the education of hunters, exchange of experiences, education of young people, promotion of new hunting equipment and public companies that exhibit their trophies, said Milan Dozet, assistant provincial secretary for agriculture, water management and forestry. - I must mention that this year we have given more funds than since the beginning, since 2011. For the period from 2011 to 2024, a total of 637 million dinars was given, and this year alone, together with this new measure, around 193 million will be given, which are significant funds as far as hunting is concerned, Dozet added. The Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection is an active participant in the upcoming events. At the Ecology Fair, among other things, they will present their past performance, as well as their plans for the next period. - Our participation in the Fair is primarily aimed at raising the ecological part and standard of environmental protection, i.e. interest through the fair activities themselves to a higher level, said Brankica Tabak, undersecretary at the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection. - At the stand we will first host visitors, but also on the central stage we will have key conferences, i.e. workshops that will be based on the presentation of the work of the Secretariat, but also of our Provincial Institute for Nature Protection, which will, among other things, conduct workshops for children's education at the stand itself. During the days of the Fair, we will make presentations concerning, first of all, waste separation, which is important for the population as a whole, and how important it is, we will show our results so far, and we will present cross-border cooperation projects and concrete measures that we managed to implement through those projects. We will also draw attention to protected areas of the second category, and when we talk about ecological culture, the promotion of our project "For cleaner and greener schools in Vojvodina" is also important for us, added Tabak. The City Administration for Environmental Protection will once again point out the importance of preserving and improving the environment, as well as proper waste management. - The focus of this year's performance will be the promotion of the prestigious Ramsar Wetland City accreditation, which Novi Sad received as the first city in the region - an award that testifies to our long-term commitment to nature conservation and sustainable urban development, said Vanja Petković, a member of the City Council for Ecology, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection. - We place special emphasis on educational workshops for children, which we will organize at the stand of the City Administration. The workshops are designed so that, through play and interaction, the importance of wetlands, biodiversity protection and nature in general will be brought closer to the youngest. In addition to educating the youngest, the Ecology Fair will also be an opportunity for expert dialogue - at the conference called Novi Sad - City of Wetlands, we will talk about the importance of wetlands, our experiences in their protection, as well as what this accreditation means specifically for our city, added Vanja Petković. - I want to emphasize that environmental protection is not only a topic, but a priority of the City of Novi Sad. This is confirmed by the fact that for the year 2025, almost 3.5 billion dinars have been allocated in the city budget for this area. In addition, Novi Sad adopted the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) on June 28, 2024, which aims to reduce CO₂ gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030, Petković pointed out. - The Novi Sad fair is quite modest. I think conferences should always start with: "Welcome to the largest regional Fair of Hunting, Fishing and Ecology in Southeast Europe!". There is no bigger fair, more important and significant, said Branislav Stankov, executive director for hunting, catering and fishing of JP "Vojvodinašume". - In Hall "Master" this year you will have a nice exhibition of trophies on 1000 square meters - 400 trophies that have not been exhibited until now. We have set up the exhibition in a different way, which will also have a great educational character this time. During the Fair, children from secondary vocational schools - forestry and agriculture will be continuously organized to come to the central hunting stand, where we will give them lectures. Today I received information that a large deer was evaluated in one of our most famous hunting grounds - Bački Monoštor, which costs about 4 million dinars. The training grounds will also be interesting, where those interested will try out thermal imaging devices and learn how trophies are evaluated. Some time ago, there were guests from Slovenia, from a special hunting ground for training in Vojvodina, so this is something we will show our visitors as well, Stankov added.Among the exhibitors at the Hunting and Fishing Fair is the well-known Capriolo in Bačka Topola - the Capriolo company has been synonymous with quality, reliability and a wide range of hunting and fishing products for decades. Our mission is simple - to enable all enthusiasts, whether they are beginners or professionals, to find the best equipment, renowned brands and professional support in one place. As in previous years, all hunting and fishing equipment will be available for purchase with significant discounts prepared by our exhibitors. Hall 1 will be dedicated to the exhibition section. This year, the "Hunting Trophies of Serbia" Exhibition, which we realized in cooperation with the Hunting Association of Vojvodina, JP "Vojvodinašume", the Hunting Association of Serbia, the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, will be set up in Hall "Master". In a special part of the "Master" Hall, a Polygon for night game observation will be set up with the use of the most modern thermal imaging devices, which will enable visitors to familiarize themselves with advanced hunting technologies. The second moment that accompanies this Fair is related to gastronomy and is organized by JP "Vojvodinašume". It is a Restaurant that will be located in the "Master" Hall, where all our visitors will be able to try game specialties, said the General Director of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković. - During the weekend of September 27 and 28, the Open Championship of Vojvodina in show jumping will be held at Manjež, so fans of this sport will also have the opportunity to enjoy themselves. This is the only Fair in the Region of this type that also has that segment attractive to visitors.
