In 2025, the book fair will be held from March 18 to 24. The event will bring together exhibitors from the field of literature, the media, publishers from Serbia and the Region, publishers with works in the languages of national communities... Visitors to the Book Fair in Novi Sad can expect premier editions, numerous promotions, attractive programs, gift games for visitors, exhibitions, festivals, and significant discounts. Contact with the business audience is also unavoidable.
In the same period, the 29th International Art Exhibition ART EXPO and the 20th International Education Fair "Signposts," which will be held from March 20 to 22 and promote the profiles of educational institutions in the country and abroad, are being held.

Days of Laza Kostić in 2024
The "Days of Laza Kostić" event was organized in 2024, in the Hall of the Novi Sad Fair, in parallel with the Education Fair from March 21 to 23. The programs were adapted to topics close to the younger population. They talked about school reading, as well as what and how much young people read. The topics were also anniversaries - two centuries since the birth of Branko Radičević, one hundred years since the birth of Aleksandar Tisma, two centuries of the publication of "Annals of Matica Srpska"...
They also talked about the love of Laza Kostić and Lenka Dunđerski, the relationship between Laza Kostić and J.J. Zmaj, Užice - the current Serbian capital of culture, anthology and anthologists, the century since the migration of Serbs from Hungary. There were also portraits of writers - last year's winner of the "Laza Kostić" Award, Maja Trifunović, Aleksandar Đurović, Goran Kojadinović...
One of the topics was the contribution of the European Capital of Culture to the literary scene of Novi Sad and beyond, which was discussed by Prof. Dr. Vladimir Gvozden. According to him, the opening of cultural stations in Novi Sad created new spaces for authentic and accessible cultural and artistic content.
"Days of Laza Kostić" is also recognizable by the award of the same name from the Novi Sad fair, which is awarded for the best literary work, in all genres.
The "Laza Kostić" award in 2024 was presented to Nenad Šaponja
The laureate of the "Laza Kostić" Award in 2024 is Nenad Šaponja, who received the award for the poetry collection "Psychology of Gravity", published by Prometheus from Novi Sad.
In addition to the "Laza Kostić" Award, the Award for the best book in the field of children's literature, the Award for Publishing Enterprise of the Year, and two Special Awards were presented.
The prize for the best book in the field of children's literature was won by Gordana Timotijević for the book "Travels of the Snail Maximilian", published by the Pčelica Publishing House in Čača. The prize for the publishing venture of the year was awarded to the Collected Works of Borislav Mihajlović Mihiz, published by Matica Srpska in Novi Sad, the "Svetozar Marković" University Library in Belgrade and the Serbian Reading Room in Iriga.
The special prize was awarded to the 10th round of the SERBIA 1914-1918 edition, published by Prometei from Novi Sad and Radio-television of Serbia in Belgrade. The same recognition was awarded to "Literary-historical and essayistic works of Milorad Pavić", volumes 1-3, published by the Cultural Center of Vojvodina "Miloš Crnjanski", in Novi Sad and the National Library of Serbia in Belgrade.
The jury consisted of Milica Vučković and Goran Ibrajter, members, and Vladimir Gvozden, president.
All works by local authors published from March 2023 to 2024 could apply for the prestigious recognition of the Novi Sad Fair.
Events dedicated to literature, art, and education in 2023
In the jubilee year when the Novi Sad Fair celebrated its century of existence, the Book Fair, the "Art Expo" Art Exhibition, and the "Pathways" Education Fair saw around 37,000 visitors, which is more than in 2022. There were more than 200 exhibitors from six countries - Serbia, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and Germany; almost 140 programs were held in which dozens of authors were presented, several anniversaries were marked, current topics were discussed, exhibitions were organized at the exhibitors' stands and more than 500 educational profiles were promoted. With thematic exhibitions and many fine artists, during seven days, they turned the Aula into a gallery space. At the fairs, there was also talk about continuing education abroad, tens of thousands of titles were sold, manuscripts were read and new books by authors were presented to the audience, and during the writers' visits, publishers ran out of books, and some stands were already reserved for next year. The Novi Sad Fair, in cooperation with donors, gave over 500 titles to visitors through the Gift Game. During seven days, RTV informed about the events at the fairs through one-hour broadcasts.
Book fair in 2023
The book fair was opened by academician and writer Goran Petrović, and the visitors were introduced to Vladimir Kecmanović, Mario Liguori, Jelena Bačić Alimpić, Dr. Nele Karajlić, Vuko Martinović, Dušan Miklja, Muharem Bazdulj, Dejan Stojiljković, Mirjana Novaković, Jovana Dišić, Goran Petrović, Vanja Bulić, Dejan Aleksić, and others... All guest appearances attracted visitors, and the authors signed their favorite works, mostly bought at The fair.
During the eight days of the event, Laza Kostic was discussed in several thematic blocks, Laza Kostic as a publicist, but also Laza's role in the formation of modern journalism among Serbs, as well as the unfulfilled love between Laza and Lenka Dunđerski. The fair was once again an ideal place for young writers, bookstores as a meeting place, important anniversaries, and a place to promote publications in the languages of national minorities...
Numerous publishing houses were promoted, and the programs were organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities, the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities-National Communities, the Novi Sad bookstore Bulevar Buks, Fond European affairs of AP Vojvodina, Banat cultural center, publishers...
The winners of the competition for the best poster, which was organized on the occasion of the jubilee, 100 years of the Novi Sad fair, with the theme "The motif of light in the work of two friends - the poet Laza Kostić and the genius Nikola Tesla", were chosen. Their works were exhibited at the Novi Sad Fair, and the winner of the Competition was Luka Todorović.
The forum entitled "Status and position of employees in public libraries of Serbia" was held as part of the Book Fair on the traditional Days of Libraries and Librarians, where the position of employees in the library profession was discussed. "National identity and national heritage in the year of Nikola Tesla" was also discussed, as well as "Citizen science: librarians as a link between science and citizens" in front of more than 250 librarians from all over the country.
In addition to lectures and scientific professional conferences, digital workshops were also held. Organizers of the event are the City Library in Novi Sad, the National Library of Serbia, the Matica Srpska Library, the "Svetozar Marković" University Library from Belgrade, and the Novi Sad Fair.
The Days of Russian Culture were also held at the Book Fair.
The book fair in Novi Sad in 2023 was marked by numerous discounts - up to 80 percent, as well as special actions and promotions that exhibitors prepared for March 8, International Women's Day.

"Laza Kostić" award
In 2024 the "Laza Kostić" Award went to Maja Trifunović for the book "Fire Eaters" published by the Belgrade-based Laguna.
The award for the best book in the field of children's literature was awarded to Uroš Petrović for "Fairy Tales - The First Seven" published by the Belgrade-based Laguna, while the Award for Publishing Enterprise of the Year went to the Serbian National Theater for "Encyclopedia of the Serbian National Theater" (Volumes I-III)...
The Book Fair's special award was presented to the Publishing House Prometej, the Archive of Vojvodina, the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, and the Vuk Endowment for the "Collected Works of Dejan Medaković". The jury for awarding the awards was composed of: Vladimir Gvozden - president and members of the jury: Goran Ibrajter and Milica Vučković.
Zaharije Orfelin
The artistic and graphic appearance of the book, the artistic and artistic impression, the artistic and graphic equipment of the book, the level of the craft, and the printing appearance of the book were evaluated. Based on the reviewed books, the jury decided to award more prizes.
The first place for the most beautiful book at this year's Book Fair, "Zaharije Orfelin", went to Ljubomir Turukalou, and the work "Heads of the Serbian Orthodox Church", published by the Church of Saint Sava from Belgrade and Narodno dela doo, Belgrade.
The second place was shared by: "Serbian folk tales", adapted by Bojana Jovanović, publisher of Pčelica from Čačak, and the award went to illustrator Igor Krstić, and "Stripotherapy" by Ana Petrović, published by the Creative Center. "Ljubimac", authored by Sanja Kovandžić Agatonović, also published by the Creative Center, won third place, and the award went to Boris Kuzmanović, the illustrator.
The expert jury was composed of: Senka Vlahović - president of the jury and members of the jury: Gabrijela Spasojević and Mirko Dimić.
In 2023, the Novi Sad Fair, in cooperation with the exhibitors, organized a Raffle-game for visitors.
