For almost three decades, SJAJ has been a hub for professional, guild, and business meetings, as well as gatherings of goldsmiths and watchmakers, alongside all enthusiasts of precious metals and gems. In 2025, the event will take place from November 14 to 17. It will welcome all visitors interested in the most glamorous event of the Novi Sad Fair, but it is primarily intended for a professional audience.

 

In addition to the promotion of jewelry and watches, the Exhibition is also an opportunity for the presentation of new technologies in the processing of precious metals, precious and semi-precious stones, and jewelry and watchmaking, as well as connecting scientific segments with practical applications in more specialized areas such as jewelry and gemology.

Exhibition SJAJ in 2024

At the Novi Sad fair, in Hall "Master", from November 8 to 11, the 27th international jewelry and watchmaking exhibition SJAJ was held. It brought together 30 exhibitors from Serbia, Turkey, Germany, and Lithuania. Along with them, another 30 participants from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Turkey performed at the GEMEXPO Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils and Precious Stones.

The event was seen by visitors from Serbia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Libya, Lithuania, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Russia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Turkey. About 40% of the professional audience is registered among them.

At the SJAJ 2024 exhibition, jewelry made of gold, silver, and surgical steel was displayed, as well as costume jewelry, combinations with cotton thread, watches from numerous manufacturers...

 

 

According to the exhibitors, the specialized SJAJ Exhibition is one, if not the only, place where they can meet colleagues from the region, as well as those from faraway places, renew old and establish new business relationships. Professional and general audiences had the opportunity to see everything necessary for the work of goldsmiths and watchmakers - from raw materials, machines, tools, and equipment, to the final product - jewelry, watches...

The most frequently asked questions at the SJAJ Exhibition were related to the price of gold and investing in laboratory diamonds or investment gold.

 

The curiosities of the Exhibition were the sculptures made of gold, shown for the first time at a fair, by the sculptor Rista Mihić. About twenty exhibits of different sizes were on display. The process of creating sculptures is long. From the idea to the model, modeling through clay, then there is casting of the negative in plaster to make a mold, after that the positive is placed in the plaster, and then there is casting, processing, and only after good processing, the gilding. The idea, of course, is to immediately pour in gold. If the exhibited statutes were made of gold, the prices would be incredible. The smallest sculpture, if it were all made of gold, and whose weight is about a kilogram, would have a value of about 120,000 euros, and the largest exhibit exhibited at the stand would also be the most expensive. Its full weight would be around 115 kilograms, and it would cost around 14 million euros. (The price is calculated based on the price of gold in 2023.)

 

  

In addition to the exhibition part, education was an important segment of the SJAJ Exhibition.
The Non-Governmental Society of Mineral, Rock and Fossil Enthusiasts "Geo-Pan" has chosen this event as the central place to celebrate 20 years of existence and 15 years of continuous participation in the most brilliant exhibition of the Novi Sad Fair. In the exhibition part, they presented minerals from Fruška Gora, works of art, and processed minerals from the members' workshop.

 

In addition, they organized several professional meetings for all visitors: Lecture and presentation of the work of the "Geo Pan" society on the occasion of 20 years of existence and 15 years of participation in the Exhibition "Shine", "Soul of jewelry" - Presentation of various techniques of jewelry making and brand development and Presentation of hemp jewelry. They also organized the Workshop "Basics of using jewelry and small repairs - TELL US MILICE" and the Presentation of minerals and localities from the Eco Tour 2024 seminar.

 

GEMEXPO for true fans

During the weekend of November 9 and 10, 2024, the GEMEXPO Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils, and Precious Stones was held. The most exhibitors so far - 30, from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, offered minerals and fossils from all over the world: minerals and precious stones from Serbia, minerals from the Trepča mine, minerals from India, mango quartz from Colombia, tourmalines from Pakistan as well as fossils from Morocco and Madagascar. A special novelty of the Exhibition, which appeared in the world only in 2024, arrived in Novi Sad - the mineral selenite from China, better known as "sheep's horn", which got its official name because of its appearance.

 

Education was also organized by GemExpo, and the topics were Stone from water: limestones and other carbonates, Noble opal from Slovakia, and Precious stone through history.

  

Entrance to the SJAJ Exhibition in 2024 was free of charge.
