International Fair of Hunting and Fishing in 2024
International fairs "Lorist" were held at the Novi Sad fair from October 2 to 6. At the Hunting and Fishing Fair and the Ecology Fair, they gathered more than 120 exhibitors from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary. Among the participants in the programs were those from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, the EU, Switzerland, France and Sweden.
According to tradition, Hall 1 of the Novi Sad fair was reserved for exhibitors whose goal was, as they say, to present the most modern equipment and standards to lovers of nature, hunting, and fishing, and spending time in nature. Of course, to educate, especially the youngest visitors. Among those who presented themselves were the most distributors and manufacturers of hunting and sporting weapons and fishing equipment from domestic and leading global manufacturers, as well as equipment for sports, recreation, living in nature, and distributors of off-road vehicles.
It was insisted on a good price-quality ratio, and the happiest were those who could buy quality and cheap, which was possible with the discounts approved by the exhibitors.
The exhibitors also state that they have noticed that there are more and more women hunters, hunters, but also young girls who are more often and expertly equipped for fishing. For them, it is also a sign of a cultural shift about nature.
Numerous business and political delegations visited the fairs. Among the visitors were the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, and Balint Juhas, President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina.
SPECIALIZED HUNTING EXHIBITIONS AND REVIEWS
Six decades have passed since the organization of the first Hunting and Fishing Fair. At this year's "Lorist" International Fairs, the attractiveness and diversity of the exhibition and offer stood out in particular at the stand, which, with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, was designed by the three most important users of the hunting grounds in Vojvodina - the "Fruška gora" National Park, the Hunting Association of Vojvodina and the JP "Vojvodinašume".
The variety of hunting biodiversity of Vojvodina and Serbia is displayed on 800 square meters of exhibition space in the "Master" Hall, and more than 50 dermopreparations and 650 hunting trophies are displayed. In the central area, which is called Deer Square, for the first time this year, a stage was set up on which daily presentations and promotions of all activities related to the hunting industry of Serbia were organized. It was also an opportunity to present various projects related to ecology and environmental protection.
More than 30 promotions and presentations were held on the central stage, and the most interesting ones were about the "Falcon for a Falcon" action, the European bison on Fruška Gora, and imitating the roar of a deer...
For a safe nest
The Provincial Institute for Nature Protection presented the project of the Srbijavoz company "Falcon for the Falcon" on the central stage on Jelenov Square, in Hall "Master", in the implementation of which, in addition to the Provincial Institute, the Electric Network of Serbia, Young Researchers of Serbia and the Municipality of Alibunar participated.
The project was implemented from December 1 of last year until the end of May 2024, and that's because one dinar from each ticket sold for transportation by the Soko train was set aside for the protection of the steppe falcon. Money has been invested in building dedicated nests and clearing habitats, and the effects are already visible. The goal of this action was to raise public awareness of the threat of the steppe falcon, whose population now numbers 40 to 50 breeding pairs. They are most numerous in central and southern Banat and northern Bačka.
In the second half of the "Master" Hall, there was the Vojvodina's Hunting House "4 deer", where lovers of delicious bites and game dishes could enjoy hunting stew, deer goulash, hunting beans, game sausages, as well as cured meat products.
Imitation of deer's roar - song of the forest
Hunters' Day, on October 5, on the stage in Hall "Master" was marked by a series of interesting events. Roarers of the Hunting Association of Slovenia presented competitive disciplines in imitating the roar of a deer, and game wardens of the special purpose hunting grounds of JP "Vojvodinašume" presented the practical application and use of deer roars. Visitors to the Fair could learn about the technique of roe deer luring, and hunting with luring was the topic of Wild Serbia TV - the first platform with hunting shows.
Hunting dog show held
At the "Lorist" Fairs, on Hunter's Day, October 5th, the Hunting Dog Show was organized for the first time to promote cynology, breed presentations, and introduce visitors to working dogs. Participants came from Serbia, but also from Sweden, Switzerland, and France, and 45 dogs in 19 breeds from Part III FCI and entire FCI groups - IV, VI, VII, VIII - were shown. The most interesting was the Dutch quail, which is rare even in the Netherlands, and it appeared here only for the second time at the exhibition.
The majority were German hunting terriers, and a Serbian hound was declared the most beautiful dog. The second was a Hungarian Vizsla, and the third was a German hunting terrier. Before the show, a display of hunting dog training was organized - and that is basic techniques. Given that the event was organized as a Review, everyone received certificates of appreciation and catalogs.
The organizer of the event was the Novi Sad Fair in cooperation with the Hunting Association of Vojvodina and the Kennel Association of the Republic of Serbia, and everyone was surprised by the large number of observers.
