The Congress Center "Master" and the Hall of the Novi Sad Fair are hosting panelists, exhibitors, experts and the general public today, October 15 and tomorrow, October 16. The event is realized in cooperation with the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport, the Partner is the City of Novi Sad, and the Partner in organizing expert meetings is E3 Iternational.

The audience is expecting carefully planned, business, educational and entertainment activities that should justify the goal of this manifestation - to become a place where citizens, through four panels and other activities, will be able to get answers to numerous questions related to the energy transition, environmental protection, projects, possibilities and ways of investing in projects...

- It gives me great pleasure that we are at the International Energy and Investment Days for the 14th time, and I think that those 14 years best confirm the importance of this event. Every year we try to nominate those important or at least the most current topics at that moment. The provincial government and the provincial secretariat are continuously working on the development of the energy sector in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia, of course the focus in these previous years has certainly been on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. When we talk about energy efficiency, a number of measures are being implemented, but what I would single out as the most significant at this moment is certainly the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which provided the Provincial Government with 12 million euros plus 2 million euros in donations, from which almost 50 public buildings in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina will be rehabilitated, said Bojan Vranjković, Provincial Secretary for Energy, Construction and Transport, opening the 14th International Energy and Investment Days. At the end of 2026, in the middle of 2027, we will have 50 completely energy-renovated public buildings - to be more precise, we are talking about schools, kindergartens, health centers, clinical centers, cultural institutions, added Vranjković. - We are following the energy development strategy of the Republic of Serbia until 2040 and we are all committed to the goal of having almost 11 gigawatts of renewable energy installed by that time, and of course we are here to provide all the necessary support, Vranjković pointed out.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia also supports the Energy and Investment Days. Members and representatives of the Government are also active participants in the panels.

- The Republic of Serbia shares the vision of the European Union when it comes to the energy sector and its role in the fight against climate change. We all know that more than 2/3 of electricity is produced from fossil fuels, which is why the road is not easy at all, but we have the opportunity to modernize it. I will remind you that last year we adopted two important documents, the only Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan until 2030 with projections until 2050, as well as the energy development strategy until 2040 with projections until 2050. With these documents, we are actually tracing the development of Serbian energy through modernization, but at the same time ensuring the maintenance of energy security and safety, said Assistant Minister of Mining and Energy for Energy Efficiency and Climate Change, Maja Vukadinović. - By the end of the decade, we have committed that around 3.5 gigawatts of new solar wind power plants should be online, which means that almost every second megawatt hour produced will be a clean source of energy, said Maja Vukadinović, among other things. - I will remind you that last year we lifted the legal ban on the construction of nuclear power plants, which means that we are seriously considering the return of nuclear energy to our energy mix. The priority of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Mining and Energy is certainly investing in increasing the energy efficiency of both family houses and apartments in residential communities and public buildings. We also started the project of energy rehabilitation of several family residential buildings connected to the district heating system, all with the aim of switching to payment by consumption. It is estimated that the implementation of this project will save more than 40% of energy with a significant reduction in harmful gas emissions. One of the most innovative projects that we will implement in the city of Novi Sad is a solar-thermal power plant, so by integrating a solar heating plant and a heat pump that will use water from the Danube in the district heating system of Novi Sad, it represents a great example of good practice that will cover more than 30% of the heating needs of the City of Novi Sad, which will replace the use of more than 16 million cubic meters of natural gas, emphasized, among other things, Maja Vukadinović.

The partner city, but also the host city of the International Energy and Investment Days, is Novi Sad, at whose stand, among other things, explanations will be given on how to apply for grants for the replacement of carpentry, boilers and stoves, what advantages the installation of heat pumps, solar collectors and panels brings, what are the available locations for investors and what results have been achieved so far in the field of energy efficiency. The Energy Agency of the City of Novi Sad will present part of its educational equipment. Special emphasis is placed on digital solutions that enable citizens to easily analyze the energy characteristics of their buildings and provide guidelines for choosing the most effective energy saving measures.

- Energy transition is not a matter of trend, but of necessity, and Novi Sad is a city that does not wait for changes, but leads them. In cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy, since 2021, we have invested over 150 million dinars in subsidies for energy rehabilitation of households, and more than a thousand citizens have already taken advantage of this opportunity. We recently signed a new agreement worth 46 million dinars and we continue to invest in measures that bring savings to citizens and sustainable development to our city.
At the same time, in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, we are strongly investing in economic infrastructure, about 6.4 billion dinars, which were directed to work zones Sever 1, 2, 4 and Kać in the previous period. We want Novi Sad to be an example of a city that combines technological progress, social justice and environmental protection, said Vanja Petković, a member of the City Council for Ecology, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection. - I invite all visitors to the International Energy and Investment Days to stop by the stand of the City of Novi Sad and the Energy Agency. There they can get specific information on how to apply for grants to replace carpentry, boilers and stoves, find out what benefits the use of heat pumps, solar collectors and panels brings, and what measures bring the biggest savings in households. Also, they will be able to familiarize themselves with free investment locations, but also with practical educational equipment that the Agency uses to train young people in the field of renewable energy sources. Novi Sad is building its future on knowledge, responsibility and partnership, and everyone who wants to be part of that story is welcome to our stand, added Vanja Petković.

- There is no more current moment to have this fair event, more like a conference, given everything that is happening in general in the world, in terms of energy, various uncertainties. We have current topics related to NIS, how and in what way will we supply ourselves with gas?, how will we get through this heating season? On the other hand, we have always followed current topics - solar energy, nuclear energy and the opening of new perspectives. This event of ours gathers professional people, university representatives, there are also representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers who are with us, and I think that all of this has a good meaning. What might be a suggestion for us as organizers, I think we should strengthen the part that is related to business - so this is after all a transfer of knowledge where people from the profession consider what are the world trends, what is happening and how it is done, and yet I think there is room for manufacturers of boilers, solar energy, solar panels and everything that accompanies that energy system. It's a serious business, maybe we can try to strengthen that exhibition part as well. In any case, I especially thank the exhibitors who decided to be present here at the Congress Center and present all that they do and how they support the energy system of Serbia, because they support these topics, said the general director of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković.

Today, at the Novi Sad Fair, an Employment Fair was held in the Hall of the Novi Sad Fair organized by the Novi Sad branch of the National Employment Service and the City of Novi Sad. More than 50 companies presented about 330 vacancies. Workers in trade, administration, construction and mechanical industries had the greatest chance of finding a job. Drivers, catering workers, carpenters, bakers, lawyers, economists and others will also get the opportunity.

The International Days of Energy and Investment continue tomorrow, Thursday, until 16:00. There is no entrance fee
