Youth and Sports Fair announced for October 3 at Novi Sad Fair – a day of sports, youth initiatives, community spirit, and positive energy.

The sports fair at the Novi Sad Fair has a decades-long tradition. Since 2017, it has been held under the auspices of the City of Novi Sad, and since three years ago with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth. Two years ago, the Association of Associations "Novosad Youth Forum" joined the organization. Then the Sports Fair grew to become the Sports and Youth Fair.

Today, another edition of the favorite event was announced at the Novi Sad Fair, which year after year brings together all those who believe in the power of togetherness, healthy life and youthful energy, and which has become a symbol of the values of Novi Sad.

- The Sports and Youth Fair will be held on Friday, October 3 at the Novi Sad Fair, under the auspices of the City of Novi Sad and with the support of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, the Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth, the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of Serbia, the City Sports Association and the Association for School Sports of the City of Novi Sad. It is a unique opportunity to jointly promote the wealth of sports activities, youth initiatives and new opportunities for active participation in community life, said Tatjana Medved, member of the City Council for Sports and Youth. - This manifestation is much more than a sports and youth event - it is a meeting place between sports and youth, promotion of healthy lifestyles, inclusion and cooperation. this year it is held under the slogan "Novi Sad plays for the future" for which our city is also a candidate for the title of European City of Sports. The special importance of this year's Fair is given by the fact that Novi Sad officially holds three European titles today — European Capital of Culture, European Capital of Youth and European City of Sports. It is a confirmation that our city nurtures culture, youth and sports at the highest level and that it is recognized in Europe as a community that inspires and leads the development of all areas of social life by its example. The title of European City of Sports is the result of many years of work, enthusiasm and joint efforts of all of us who believe in the importance of sports and sports activism, added Tatjana Medved.

- We have been following this event for many years and we are glad that it has retained its quality and recognition, especially among young people, said the provincial secretary for sports and youth, Dane Basta. - Novi Sad, a city that has been winning prestigious titles for years, confirms once again that it is the true engine of sports development in our northern province. Every year, this manifestation records growth and gathers an increasing number of the youngest, which is extremely important for us, added Basta. - Our goal is to interest as many young people as possible in physical activity. The sports fair is an ideal opportunity for children and youth to get acquainted with different sports disciplines and, if they haven't already, find a sport that will motivate them, fulfill them and, hopefully, lead them to a successful sports career. The Provincial Government and the Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth will continue to provide strong support for this event in the future, because we believe in its importance and potential, Dane Basta pointed out.

- We can proudly say that in the previous period, the Novi Sad Fair successfully organized all the planned events, despite the complex social and economic circumstances. As management, we consider such results a serious undertaking, emphasized the general director of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković. - In that spirit, we announce the continuation of the fair activities - the Sports and Youth Fair, which will be held on October 3. Cooperation with the City of Novi Sad and the Provincial Secretariat for Sports was crucial. The city of Novi Sad managed to win the prestigious title of the European Capital of Sports, which further strengthens the importance of the upcoming fair. In this context, the event will receive additional content and attention, in order to further promote the values of sports and youth activities, added Cvetković. As part of joint initiatives, in cooperation with the Sports Association of the City of Novi Sad, additional activities were realized, such as the European Championship for veterans in table tennis, which was also held in Novi Sad, at the Novi Sad Fair. - As organizers, we want to highlight the economic importance of such events. Every income generated by the Fair, from 7 to 14 dinars, is directly reflected on the income of the city - from space rental, consumption, to the number of overnight stays and non-boarding expenses. All of this represents a concrete contribution to the local economy... - Thanks to continuous cooperation with the City Council for Sports, as part of the Sports Fair, additional infrastructure will be installed in the "Master" Hall of the Novi Sad Fair. Part of that equipment will remain permanently available for further use, which opens up space for the organization of new sports competitions and activities. Numerous events are planned through the Sports and Youth Fair; such as the 33rd International Danube Cup, Youth Sports Games, and EXPO 2027 will also be presented, emphasized Slobodan Cvetković.

On Friday, October 3, sports clubs and youth organizations, sports and youth federations and associations will gather in Hall "Master", Aula, in the open space of the Fair and at the Manjež of the Novi Sad Fair. The goal is to enable everyone, through a diverse program of youth organizations and a rich sports content that will present everything that Novi Sad has to offer in the field of sports and youth, to get acquainted with various sports disciplines and youth programs, discover new interests and develop volunteering and sportsmanship.

Visitors can expect dynamic sports competitions, interesting presentations by youth organizations, but also a rich accompanying program filled with quizzes, prizes and numerous surprises. It will be a day full of socializing, positive energy and new experiences, it was said at the press conference.
