For the first time Tunisia exhibited at the Agricultural Fair last year, and at the 86th International Agricultural Fair it participates as the Friend Country.
It is considered as one of the most economically developed African countries. Agriculture has been developed in Tunisia since ancient times; the Romans made Tunisia a granary by building irrigation systems.
It has 18.3% of the arable land, and the agriculture employs 18.5% of the labor force. The biggest problem of agriculture is very frequent drought and limited possibilities for artificial irrigation. The main agricultural products are: cereals, olives, urns, citrus fruit and seafood, and all products are mainly intended for the export. Viticulture is also developed.
More and more early vegetables and fruits are being exported to Europe. Cattle breeding has been developed in the dry inland. Sheep, goats and cattle are bred, and poultry breeding is present around large cities. Fishing is a very significant sector.
From May 11th to 17th at Novi Sad Fair, the following companies will try to find partners in the Serbian market: Société El MANARA, Société IAT, Société LANDOR, UCCV, Sté Elmazraa, Groupement Interprofessionnel des Légumes, Groupement Interprofessionnel des Gifruits, Groupement Interprofessionnel des Viandes Rouges et du Lait, Groupement Interprofessionnel des produits de la pêche, Groupement interprofessionnel de produités avicoles et cunucoles, Agence de Promotion de Investissements Agricoles, Office d'élevage et du paturage and TIT BIO.
