The long-standing International Agricultural Fair, in its 92nd edition, was officially opened at the Novi Sad Fair, gathering participants from all over the world in one place. Over the next five days, visitors can expect to see a blend of different factors that have been influencing the rapid development of agriculture in our country, as the speakers at the opening ceremony emphasized.

The Agricultural Fair is one of the most prestigious agrarian events in this part of Europe. It has been a meeting place of tradition and innovation, science and practice, the state and small producers, for over nine decades - said the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić, at the opening ceremony of the 92nd International Agricultural Fair. - This is not simply a fair, this is the best proof of agrarian Serbia. Agriculture is not just a question of tradition; it is an answer for the future. In 2024 alone, Serbia has accomplished agricultural exports worth over 5.14 billion euros, which is a 10% increase compared to last year. We have also recorded a surplus of 1.2 billion euros in food trade, a positive trend that will continue in the first quarter of 2025. This is not a coincidence, but rather a result of a responsible and attractive agricultural policy.

To achieve the above-mentioned results, Minister Glamočić has listed a series of measures implemented so far to support agriculture and has invited the visitors of the Agricultural Fair to come by the stand of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, and inform themselves about new measures which will be presented to the public for the first time during the Fair.
- Digitalization, modernization of production, support of youth and women, resource preservation, and organic production, these are not just plans, these are guidelines we are implementing. The Serbian farmer now has the state for his partner, and the responsibility to be the guardian of the land, seeds and the future of our food – said Glamočić.

To support agriculture in Vojvodina, the Provincial Government has since 2016 invested over 100 billion dinars, and 12 billion dinars will be allocated from the budget this year.
- The Agricultural Fair is guaranteed to fulfil its mission again this year through the exchange of knowledge and information about the current tendencies in agricultural production, which is crucial for all the stakeholders in the sector – said the President of the Provincial Government Maja Gojković, adding that the Provincial Government has never invested as much money for agriculture as it has in the recent years. - This event is also very personal for all of us born in Novi Sad because the Agricultural Fair has great sentimental value and we experience it as part of ourselves. For the future benefit of this manifestation, it is important to maintain traditional standards with the implementation of contemporary methods and technologies, that improve production quality.

The city of Novi Sad is, once again, the host, but also one of the exhibitors at the Fair, which is considered to be of crucial importance both the city and the state.
- We have recognized the importance of networking with science and industry, a well-known recipe that is also present at this event - said the Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin. - It is also a winning combination for progressive change because success doesn’t come by itself. The Novi Sad Fair is progressing because Serbia and the city of Novi Sad are relentlessly moving forward. I would like to point out that the City has supported over 1800 farmers in the last 13 years, with over 325.9 billion dinars, subsidizing organic farming and various agricultural association activities. We have maintained geographic origin labels for our famous brands, such as Futog cabbage, Begeč carrots, and linden honey from Fruška Gora.

In the coming days, Novi Sad Fair will be hosting thousands of exhibitors and even more visitors, and together they will support this symbol of mutual efforts to strengthen Serbian agriculture and Serbia’s position on the global agricultural scene.
As the bearer of the “Best of Vojvodina” label, the Agricultural Fair is being realized with strong support from the Strategic Partner Italy, which is represented by H.E. Luca Gori.
- Italy’s presence at the Agricultural Fair is a tradition, and this year our stand takes up 550 square meters, representing 50 Italian agricultural producers – said Gori. - We strongly support the Serbian fair system, we have good relations with all the fairs in Serbia, and the subject of agriculture is very important for bilateral relations between Italy and Serbia.

In addition to Italy, this year’s International Agricultural Fair features participants from the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkey, Slovenia, China, Austria, Romania, Poland, Indonesia... The general sponsor of the Agricultural Fair is Globos Insurance, Postal Savings Bank is the partner bank, and Kite DOO is sponsoring the visitor’s prize game.

The Fair’s gates are open to visitors until Thursday, May 22, from 9 AM to 6 PM. The price for an individual ticket is 800 dinars, for collective visits 600 dinars (15 or more people), for organized school and university visits 400 dinars, for children aged 7-14 and pensioners the ticket is also 400 dinars. The entrance is free for children under the age of 7.
