AGRICULTURAL FAIR ANNOUNCED IN BELGRADE

The Agricultural Fair, holder of the label "The Best of Vojvodina", in addition to its economic role, has a strong social, cultural and educational significance. By gathering a large number of exhibitors and visitors, from May 16 to 21, they will once again contribute to the exchange of knowledge, experiences and new ideas that can affect the faster modernization and improvement of agricultural production. The event was announced today at a conference at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belgrade.

Since 2010, the Agricultural Fair has had a Partner Country, and in 2020 – the Czech Republic as a Partner Country supported the first online Agricultural Fair, followed by the one a year later. The Czech Republic is a partner country this year as well. "This will be the seventh time in a row that our ministry has participated in the national stand of the Czech Republic. It will traditionally be located in Hall 1. We will have 12 companies from various directions of agriculture and food industry. In addition, we will traditionally serve draft Czech beer from the national brewery "Czech badweiser" at the stand. On the first days of the fair, there will be traditional music, we will prepare specialties of our cuisine. I would like to mention that as part of the activities that the EU Delegation will have at the Novi Sad Fair in Hall 1, at their stand, on Sunday at 2 p.m., we plan for our ambassador to present a traditional dish of Czech cuisine, said Vladimir Vanja, Attaché for Agriculture at the Embassy of the Czech Republic. "Our new Minister of Agriculture, Martin Šebestjan, will come on an official visit on the opening day of the fair, we will have an economic delegation and we will hold talks on how to improve cooperation in the field of agriculture," Vanja pointed out.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia has traditionally been a strong supporter of the Agricultural Fair. "The International Agricultural Fair is a great challenge for us, but also an opportunity to combine knowledge, profession and politics in one place. The focus of our activities at our stand, which is traditionally organized in the "Master" Hall, is direct communication with our farmers. I would like to point out that during the Agricultural Fair, officials of our Agrarian Payments Administration will be present at our stand, as well as our representatives of agricultural advisory and expert services that are there for our farmers, to provide all the necessary information in active communication, both about national measures and the IPARD program, about practically current public calls, about the implementation plan and the calendar of public calls for this year. that is, answers to all potential questions that our farmers will have, said Željko Radošević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. "I would like to emphasize that we expect the arrival of numerous delegations, both from countries in the region, as well as from Europe, but also from the African continent. A large number of bilateral meetings are also expected at our stand between the heads of delegations and our relevant minister. In parallel with the work at the stand, according to the established practice, we have organized attractive professional lectures and presentations that will be held in the halls of the Congress Center "Master". I would like to mention that new legal frameworks in the field of forestry, timber trade, then the food safety sector, the sector of inspection supervision in the field of processing and production will be processed. I would especially like to emphasize the application of artificial intelligence and digitalization in the field of agriculture, Radošević added. "It is important to point out that the National Livestock Exhibition is expected, and it is one of the most attractive segments of the Agricultural Fair, and it is known that the Livestock Farmers' Day is also the day when the Novi Sad Fair records record attendance. Our goal is not only to show the highest quality heads and the quality of domestic, but also foreign genetics, our goal is to send a clear message that one of the strategic commitments of the agrarian policy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management is to strengthen the livestock sector, improve the quality of livestock, as well as increase the number of quality breeding heads on our farms. I am pleased to say that some agrarian policy measures have already yielded certain results because we are recording a jump in the number of quality breeding animals on our farms, Radošević pointed out, adding that an exhibition of organic products and products with a geographical indication, as well as the so-called craft beers, will be organized in Hall 1a. The exhibition included 17 exhibitors in the field of organic production, five exhibitors with products with protected geographical origin and 23 exhibitors of craft beer.

Wednesday is Fruit Farmer's Day, and Thursday is Farmer's Day. The National Livestock Show will be adorned with the bull Jablan, of the Simmental breed, weighing about 1830 kilograms, and the Matador ram, of the Würtenberg breed, with his 204 kg. This year, the Government of Vojvodina, together with the Provincial Secretariats for Agriculture, Economy and Tourism, supported the Agricultural Fair. Among other things, the promotion of Vojvodina's food producers, and then handicrafts and products at the craft level, in Hall 6, came Cvetković. "We expect a large number of ministers from African countries, but also representatives from Turkey and China, because somewhere we still have the impression that we, like Serbia, are a bridge between the East and the West, that technology from the East appears here and seeks its way to Western markets and vice versa. Individual tickets for the Agricultural Fair cost 1000 dinars, while in collective visits they are 750 dinars per person. Tickets for organized visits to schools and universities, children from 7 to 14 years old and pensioners cost 500 dinars, and permanent tickets (for the event) cost 5,500 dinars. Organized - A group visit involves at least 15 people.
