The natural values of the Donja Mostonga Nature Park and the procedure for declaring a protected area of provincial importance were the topic of the presentation organized by the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection and the Provincial Institute for Nature Protection.
Located in the west of Vojvodina, on 3,170 hectares, between Bac, Deronj and Karavukovo, the Nature Park "Donja Mostonga" was declared a protected area of the second category of provincial importance in August this year. Among the most important values of this park are the remains of Pannonian pedunculate oak forests, then 185 species of birds, of which 83 are nesting species, as well as numerous strictly protected and protected species of plants, amphibians, insects and mammals.PP "Donja Mostonga" is a part of the wider Biosphere Reserve "Upper Danube", whose goal is also the preservation of natural resources of exceptional importance.
