What the hunters of Serbia don't know, but think they know, was the topic of the presentation "Serbia, the founder of the CIC", which was presented by the member of the World Hunting Organization (CIC) Aleksandar Ćeranić.

- One of the particularly important parts of the presentation, which fits into the ambience of the stand of JP "Vojvodinašuma" and the exhibition of hunting trophies, refers to the way trophies are evaluated, which means that these trophies are valorized and sold for a little more money - explains Ćeranić. - About a hundred countries are members of the CIC, the headquarters of the organization is in Vienna, it also has a seat in the United Nations and participates in all international projects for the protection of hunting species.

CIC, according to Ćeranić, recently participated in lowering the level of wolf protection. The wolf was protected at the level of Europe by one degree, and now that protection is lower.

- That suits us because we have a good wolf population, which we can valorize. In Serbia, there are currently six collective members of the CIC, such as regional hunting associations and clubs, as well as ten individual members. All of them make up the national delegation of the CIC, whose task is to bring the ideas of the world association closer to Serbian hunters and harmonize them with our tradition, culture and hunting code - pointed out Ćeranić.

The plan of the CIC national delegation in Serbia is to offer the authorities the service of harmonizing our regulations with the positive regulations of other countries, added Ćeranić and specified that it is about laws on game and hunting, habitat, nature protection and animal welfare.

- All this has not been resolved in our country and represents a big problem for an activity such as hunting - concludes Ćeranić.
