On the occasion of marking the 200th anniversary of the founding of Matica Srpska, the President of this oldest Serbian literary, scientific and cultural institution, Prof. Dr. Dragan Stanić, talked today with the Director General of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković, about the improvement of current cooperation and joint projects in the field of culture The meeting was also attended by writer, poet, anthologist and essayist Selimir Radulović, long-time director of the Matica Srpska Library.During the talks, it was assessed that the Novi Sad Fair and Matica Srpska have a long-standing and fruitful cooperation, based on a common mission of preserving and improving culture and the written word, and readiness was expressed to further intensify it in the coming period through stronger program linking and implementation of joint initiatives. In principle, it was agreed that the President of Matica Srpska will attend the upcoming event dedicated to the written word – the Book Fair, which will be held from 17 to 23 March at the Novi Sad Fair.The interlocutors assessed that the jubilee of two centuries of existence of Matica Srpska represents an important moment for the entire cultural public of Serbia and an additional incentive for the affirmation of books, publishing and cultural dialogue.
