– Training of professional users, organizing a network for checking equipment used for plant protection and preparation of appropriate laws that will soon be presented to the deputies in the Republic Parliament, these are the measures that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management is implementing in order to implement sustainable application of plant protection products – said the relevant Minister Dragan Glamočić yesterday at the lecture on the sustainable application of plant protection products at the Congress Center "Master".
This year, 60,000 professional users have undergone training in the use of plant protection products, and we intend to include all those who are engaged in the training. We plan to introduce solutions, according to which agricultural producers who want to buy plant protection products would have to have a prescription, as when picking up a drug. Minister Glamocic pointed out that we cannot avoid the use of plant protection products, but that it must be minimal and responsible, with respect for the profession and science.Director of the Plant Protection Directorate, Nebojša Milosavljević, points out that the goal of adapting our farmers to EU regulations is to improve agricultural production and support its sustainability.– We want to help our producers to stay in the markets to which they have been exporting for years, such as the EU, Russia, China and other countries. These are markets with demanding standards – concludes Milosavljević.
