Representatives – teachers from four elementary schools – elementary school "Sveti Sava" from Bačka Palanka, elementary school "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" from Sremska Kamenica, elementary school "Mihalo Pupin" from Veternik and elementary school "Jovan Popović" from Susek participated on Thursday in a workshop through which they were able to exchange experiences from the implementation of the program "For cleaner and greener schools in Vojvodina".
As they pointed out, a large number of well-motivated students want to participate in environmental actions, they are happy to respond to recycling, greening, landscaping actions. They enthusiastically join the program "For cleaner and greener schools in Vojvodina", and they are especially happy when their school is among the best and when they win a prize – a trip to a natural resource. The program "For cleaner and greener schools in Vojvodina" has existed since 2009 and brings together preschool institutions, primary, secondary and special schools throughout the province and is supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection, the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport, the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry and the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism, in cooperation with the Movement of Gorans of Vojvodina, PE "Vojvodinašume" and the City of Novi Sad – City Administration for Environmental Protection. Basically, about a hundred educational institutions apply, including kindergartens, primary, secondary and special schools, and about 50 institutions with the most imaginative and most successfully implemented eco-actions are selected.
