The International Grain Forum 2026 was held yesterday at the "Master" Congress Center. This prestigious event, held for the second time in Serbia, brought together the world's leading institutions (FAO, International Grains Council, CME Group, S&P Global and many others) and experts from the grain and oilseed sector from all over the world.

Through several panels, experts, representatives of international institutions and companies from the grain and oilseed sector spoke about the challenges they face and what are the forecasts of grain prices for 2027. They discussed the impact of geopolitics, weather and artificial intelligence on markets and how reliable such forecasts are. Global trends in production, demand and prices of cereals and oilseeds were presented, as well as expectations for the market this year.
The topic of grain transport across the Danube and Black Sea ports was also discussed, what are the costs of logistics and ship transport, and the stability of exports and international trade flows was also discussed. As it was emphasized, this topic is particularly important for the competitiveness of grain exports from our region. One of the panels dealt with price risk management, and presented how producers, traders and processors can use options on commodity exchanges to hedge against price risks and market volatility. The attendees also learned how swap contracts work, where to find supply and demand for these instruments, as well as how they are used in international grain trade.
